Hi everyone! Welcome back to Brush & Co’s blog. Hope everyone’s been great & Raya was amazing for you!
ps: Was it just me or my skin acts up during Raya?
Not even the holy grail of Korean Skincare could help me. But heyyyy a girl can try.
I wanted to talk a little more on Korean skincare which I’ve started for myself earlier this year. I’ve been trying to focus on my skin since early last year but my adult acne has separation anxiety with me so it has stayed clingy.
Now, what is Korean Skincare?
It’s a skincare routine practiced and perfected by the Koreans (and the beauty world is obliging!) that is extensive and tackles different “problems” your skin may face. It aims to prepare & protect your skin from external factors such as the sun also gravity (no wrinkles for me, sir!)
Here’s a step by step we created from our thorough reading on this subject!
DAY:
- Cleanse: Use a gentle cleanser.
- Exfoliate: Use a gentle scrub (I really like the C-Peeling from Laneige!) to smoothen and clear off impurities.
- Replenish: Essence! A bunch of Korean Skincare line includes a liquid product that’s called “Essence”. The liquid is packed with nutrients & ingredients that will help re-add all the good stuff you may have scrubbed or washed away.
- Tone: Emulsion! This is where your skin gets to calm down and get even more plump. The Korean Skincare line also usually includes a bottle that’s called “Emulsion”. This helps to prep your skin.
- Treat: Time to tackle your imperfections! Add on your ubat jerawat, scar oil, or ampoule during this step.
- Moisturize: This is the most familiar step for all, we have always moisturized before we were introduced to the Korean skincare routine. This step helps hydrate your skin.
- Eyes: My personal favourite part!!! I love tackling and lightly tapping on my under eyes with eye cream.
- Protect: I know you guys do this, which is so great to see everyone’s aware of the importance! Remember to use at least SPF30. Higher SPF means longer coverage and protection.
NIGHT:
- Remove makeup: Use micellar water, oil or balm! My current favourite is using balm and then micellar water. I just want to remove it TWICE!
- Cleanse: Use a gentle cleanser & add on a cleansing tool to really get into your pores and rid off dirt.
- Exfoliate: Use a gentle scrub (I really like the C-Peeling from Laneige!) to smoothen and clear off impurities.

- Protect: At night, you can add on sleeping mask to lock all your hardwork in. I personally use oil type instead just cause I like it. But I’ve done Laneige’s Water Sleeping Mask and I loved it! They’re expensive too.
- Pamper: This step doesn’t have to be an everyday thing (You can if you’re rajin) but slap on a sheet mask once or twice a week! Don’t wash off the residue but massage them in instead!
Is it worth it to try?
Personal preference, babes! I am into the idea of delaying looking my age. So eye cream, replenishing nutrients so my skin stays wrinkle-free for awhile would be great.
Is it expensive?
Kinda. Its a lot of products you’ve to purchase. I suggest you study each step and exclude what you don’t need. If your skin doesn’t really have impurities/scars/acne maybe you can skip the tone & treat steps. Do what works for you!
