Hello lovelies!
I’m trying to be a bit more regular with my blog posts.
And I wanted to do this post because I thought it may be interesting to some of you.
I’ve been into makeup since 2011? I started with eye makeup first; getting my first Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay for my birthday present!
I realize in a bid to save money by buying drugstore products, I will always come back to saving money to buy my high end ones.
The makeup products I would willingly pay hundreds for are:
1. NARS foundations. Their undertones are AMAZING!! I think this is why a lot of local MUAs use NARS for their clients.. Because their undertones are hitting the sweet spot with us Asian skin. I am a yellow/golden gal and Stromboli is my current shade.
PS: Your shade doesn’t always stay the same. Over the years your skin could be darker or lighter. For example, in 2017 I was in the shade Punjab (medium 1) and now I’m Stromboli (medium 3)
Next is, Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
I’ve only discovered this powder when I got it during Sephora Black Friday Sale.
This powder has a slight shimmer to it which I really loved for my under eye! But I still have yet to master the art of setting powders (I almost always look cakey) but will repurchase when I run out of it.
Huda Beauty’s Liquid Lipstick
My holy grail…. I’ve tried other local brands and love them. But I will always go back to my Huda liquid lipstick in the shade Bombshell. It really suits my skin tone and gives me the nude pinky feel. My wedding MUA Naqiah introduced me to this and put it on me for my reception… I was obsessed ever since!!
But I guess these 3 are my yearly splurges for makeup. Used to spend way more on other things like eyeshadow palettes etc but a bunch of our Malaysian brands are on par.
For mascara I’d always go drugstore… They’re wayyyy better than some (dare I say better than that Dior Pump N Volume mascara) and they’re so affordable.
Don’t know if this blog post would be helpful with no pictures of the mentioned products, but thought I’d share anyway!
Thanks for reading!
