Simply because synthetic bristles & today’s technology combined can produce a similar texture to natural hair. I was quite disappointed at this brush set.. the brushes are spiky and pointy. Especially the tapered powder brush. Also all the brushes are so short and small that it’s hard to control. The pouch gets dirty easily. For example, the purple card that gets stuck to the pouch and when I took it off the purple ink got on the pouch.
